She said
They meant different things
But they thought that they spoke
The same language.

did you say?

When?
Just now?
Nothing.
Yes you did!
What?
Say something!
No, I didn’t.
You did, I heard you!
How could you have?
Because you said something!
Well, it couldn’t have been important.
Then why did you say it?
But I didn’t!
You did!
Didn’t!
Did!
Okay, I did.
What was it?
Nothing important.
Let me be the judge of that!
But I said it!
What was it you said?
Oh, I’ve had enough of this. I’m leaving!

She sat there,
